BBL Company consultation on its General Terms and Conditions and Charging Methodology 2026

On 4 September 2026 Ofgem has published its decision letter on the proposed modifications to BBLC's GT&C and charging methodology which BBLC has consulted in Spring 2026. BBLC will publish the updated GT&C and Charging Methodology on its website which will become effective from 22 October 2026 onwards.

BBLC's proposed changes to Exhibit G have been rejected by Ofgem. This means that BBLC's conditional firm reverse flow capacity product will remain applicable from 1 October 2026 until 31 March 2027.

The related GB demand threshold for the conditional firm reverse flow capacity product is published here. This threshold will remain applicable for the updated GT&C which will become effective from 22 October 2026 onwards.

Based on consultation responses, BBLC has decided not to implement a 7-day average electricity price as part of determining the variable fee for shippers. 

Including these changes, the GT&C and exhibits as well as the charging methodology will be effectuated from 22 October 2026 onwards as specified below.

A consultation has opened on changes BBL Company (BBLC) is proposing to make to its GT&C and Charging Methodology. BBLC seeks your views on these proposed modifications. Please refer to the consultation letter for additional background to these proposals. All other relevant documents with tracked changes are shown below. We invite you to submit a written representation. You can find the details how to submit your response in the consultation letter. Following consideration of responses to the consultation a final report will be submitted to Ofgem for approval. The consultation period will run from Wednesday 8 April 2026 through to Wednesday 6 May 2026.
