BBL Company announced on 9th February 2009 that one of the three compressors was damaged due to a technical problem. Since then, BBL Company and the manufacturer of the compressor have worked together in order to restore full capacity as soon as possible, as well as to thoroughly investigate the root cause behind the technical problems.
BBL Company expects that a new compressor will be fully installed in July which means that at the beginning of August 2009 all three compressors are available for transport again.
Based on the outcomes of the root cause analysis on the technical problems so far, it has been decided to carry out a replacement program for a certain part of the compressors preventatively. The plan is to execute this replacement program gradually, starting this summer as soon as the three BBL compressors are available for transport again.
The compressor with the most running hours will be serviced first. It is expected that this compressor will be operational again in December 2009, which means that until that time no back-up capacity will be available. The remaining two compressors will be serviced separately at a later period in time, as of the summer of 2010.
In case of any new developments BBL Company will release more information on this website.
