Maintenance Programme update VI

BBLC wishes to update the market again on the status of the physical reverse flow construction works and commissioning activities for both forward and reverse flow. Also BBLC wishes to provide a short update on the introduction of the Implicit Allocation Mechanism.

At the Dutch site the commissioning phase has finished on Friday 28 June 2019. On the UK site the construction team will start the commissioning activities for forward and reverse flow by the end of this week. Dependent on the developments of the maintenance programme of National grid, BBLC knows more on the expected capacity availability. Forward flow is now estimated to be available again by the beginning of next week. More information on the exact date will be provided on 8 July 2019.

Physical reverse flow capacity will be made available via IAM and PRISMA once Ofgem has approved the Interconnection Agreement between BBLC and National Grid and the project is technically completed.

On 2 July 2019 BBLC offered 75% of its available technical capacity via the Implicit Allocation Mechanism. Within one day almost all available forward flow capacity was sold for the next winter period. On our website the quantities sold are now available. The 25% available technical forward flow capacity that is still available will be auctioned via Prisma in the next Quarterly auction scheduled on 5 August 2019 and in the monthly auctions.
