Gazprom and Gasunie agree on next step in co-operation
[Amsterdam, 6 June 2006]
In
the course of the 23rd World Gas Conference in Amsterdam, a working meeting took
place between Mr. Alexey Miller, Chairman of The Executive Board of JSC “Gazprom”,
and Mr. Marcel Kramer, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of the Dutch gas
infrastructure company N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie. They agreed to prepare for
signing within a month a Memorandum of Understanding between JSC “Gazprom”
and Gasunie that will serve as a basis towards reciprocal stakeholding in the
North-European Gas Pipeline and the BBL, the new pipeline connecting the
Netherlands to the UK. Both companies will also address other aspects of access
to infrastructure that will enable additional flows of Russian gas to the
North-West European market. The CEOs expressed full confidence in this further
step towards expanding the co-operation between the two companies.
