Available transmission capacity

BBL Company offers different types of capacity. All capacity is offered on a first come first served basis. Below you will find more information on the available amounts. More information on the conditions and the agreements applicable to the different types of capacity are published on this website under Commerce.

Firm forward flow capacity

Firm forward flow capacity is available for sale. It concerns firm capacity related to the expansion project for which BBL Company organised an open season in 2007. As not all capacity offered in the Open Season has been contracted, there is still capacity available under the assumption that building and environmental permits are available in time and that the zoning plan is geared to the new station. Two other tranches of firm forward flow capacity will become available when the contracts related to the original BBL project expire. The first tranche will be available from 1 December 2016 onwards and the second tranche will be available from the end of 2022 onwards. Interruptible forward flow capacity

BBL Company offers interruptible forward flow capacity (from the Netherlands to the UK). Please take notice that interruptible forward flow capacity will only be offered for sale if all firm capacity has been sold. There is no limit on the amount of interruptible forward flow capacity offered. BBL Company publishes the amount of sold interruptible forward flow capacity on the website. Interruptible reverse flow capacity

As from October 1st 2010, BBL Company offers interruptible reverse flow (IRF) capacity (from the UK to the Netherlands). The capacity is sold in tranches of 30,000 kWh by means of quarterly, monthly and daily auctions. The dates and time frames of the auctions in 2012 can be found in this document: Auction dates 2012.
